We welcome you to our family owned and managed Guest House in Rüdigershagen. It is set in 1 acre of private grounds including private forest land and gardens. The local forests extend out across broad, rolling hills, ideal for hiking, walking and cycling or local adventures! It is situated on a quiet hillside near a forest called “Dün” overlooking the countryside. The newly furnished Guest House is close to the A38 and at the border to Niedersachsen. It is located in the district of Eichsfeld which is a part of the county Thuringia. In the past this district was divided into East and West Germany.
According to statistics, Germany is the seventh most visited country in the world. The Forest Guest House is situated in the Free State of Thuringia which is a federal state of Germany. It is located in the central part of the country and therefore called “Green Heart of Germany” due to the dense forest covering the land. Erfurt is its capital. Thuringia is known for nature and winter sports. Germany’s most famous hiking trail is Rennsteig and the nearest winter resort is Oberhof.
Johann Sebastian Bach, German composer and musician of the Baroque period was born in Eisenach and spent most of his life in Thuringia. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller lived in Weimar as well as Franz Liszt. Other famous personalities who lived, worked or were born in Thuringia are Martin Luther, Meister Eckhart, Carl Zeiss, Karl Marx, Friedrich Willhelm Nietzsche, Rudolf Steiner and many more.
